The Honorable Judge Claudia Wilken passed down sentencing for our defendants today meeting hopes of no incarcaration. Both Jessica and Mickey received probation with additional conditions such as a period of monitoring and walked out of the courthouse this afternoon.

Arguments presented by defense were eloquent and did great justice to the cause. Mickey himself jerked tears from every set of eyes in the room except for prosecution and law enforcement - including courtroom staff. Judge Wilken herself seemed to need a moment to center herself. It is one thing to hear or read about a "criminal" who believed he was contributing to the progression of society, but another to hear him struggle to maintain composure while telling stories of suffering patients at a lack of good medicine and crushed dreams of carrying the torch of mmj as a proper, licensed manufacturer of schedule II medication.
