Phelps

The Boycott Is Working. Keep up the good work.
Why a "munchy" company would choose to piss off people who use cannabis is beyond me, but I am glad to see their intolerance has cost them in more ways than one. I have been great using other products and actually like some better for sure. Stupid Kellogg's
Out of the 5,600 company reputations Vanno monitors, Kellogg ranked ninth before it booted Phelps. Now it's ranked 83. Not even an industry-wide peanut scare inflicted as much damage on the food company's reputation. A Vanno representative put together this chart: We'd caution that while Vanno's data may be directional, it is certainly not exact. Vanno gleans it from real-time surveys on its Web site and then filters it through a Bayesian algorithm -- the same kind of algorithm that keeps spam out of your inbox and investigators use to spot insurance and credit card fraud. Dumping Phelps Over Bong Rip Damages Kellogg's Brand Reputation
When Kellogg announced it would not renew its endorsement contract with Olympic medalist Michael Phelps after a photo of the athelete smoking pot surfaced, it may have cost the food company its sterling reputation, reports company reputation index Vanno.

BOYCOTT KELLOGG'S PRODUCTS
In a decision to drop Michael Phelps for his use of cannabis, my family and friends have chosen to boycott Kellogg's products, including the many brands of cereal, but also Eggo's, Cheez-Its, Keebler and other cookie brands, Carr's and Townhouse crackers, and many more. A list can be founs here:http://www2.kelloggs.com/Product/ProductByBrand.aspx?id=943 I have sent the following letter to the company. You can reach them at: kellogg@casupport.com 1-800-962-1413 Pleasew write your own email or give them a call. Thanks.
Greetings,
I am writing you as a concerned citizen in the wake of your decision to drop your sponsorship of Olympic great Michael Phelps. I think your decision is based in a time of intolerance and that you have made a grave error in judgment. Whether you agree with a person's right to use cannabis or not is not the question here. It is simply a matter of allowing your knee jerk reaction to make bad decisions for your company and set a bad example for the world as to how to deal with such a menial situation. It is simply unacceptable and short sighted. Fortunately, I think Michael Phelps will be better off without your support than you will be without his.
I am the father of two young boys who eat A LOT of Raisin Bran. Between them and my wife we were using about three boxes of your product per week. As my boys turn into men over the years I am sure that number will increase dramatically, as well. But let us just run the numbers based upon that. Three boxes a week for 52 weeks over the next 17 years. That is 2,652 boxes of your product I personally will not be using. Let us add in that I am a very influential and vocal person, who loves to encourage my friends and family to join me in my efforts to change public policy. Realize most of my friends ALSO have children and probably eat a lot of your products. So we have only touched the cereal number, but Pop-Tarts, Keebler, Cheez-Its, Eggo Waffles, Cookies, Crackers, and many more products that are no longer allowed in my house, period. You can be sure that my two son's would have consumed a great deal of your products in their lifetime, but they will learn that we do not do business with companies that are intolerant and choose to demonize a young man for his choice to use cannabis. I would say that Pop-Tarts are more harmful than cannabis and that YOU should be the one held accountable for the thousands of overweight children plaguing our healthcare system. Who holds YOU accountable? Well, I will tell you who. Me. My friends and family. The thousands who read my blog and follow it. And any person in the grocery store I may come across who will listen. Word of mouth is a great vehicle for change.
I highly suggest you rethink your decision to drop Michael Phelps. It is a decision based in a time that has ceased to exist. Look around you. You are standing alone on this in a "holier-than-though" manner which is particularly disgusting to me. I am glad to hear that other companies have chosen to be more tollerant and not condemn a kid for using cannabis. At least some of the world is changing with the times. It is a shame you will not and it is a shame that you have chosen to loose my business over this. I hope the people that you believe you are appeasing with this choice make up for the people, like myself, who you have lost as a customer forever. It is not too late to make the right choice.
Regards,
Mickey Martin
