A touching display of cupcake decorating has the ability to brighten my day. On Friday a group of fellow activists organized a cupcake decorating party that went to create awareness for our plight and encourage people to write testimonials on the behalf of Tainted/Compassion. It was amazing the outpouring of support that we received from fellow patients and activists that came together in a world of brightly colored frosting to stand up for medical cannabis freedoms.
I took a few minutes to address the crowd about the injustices that were happening in our community and provide insight to the struggles we were facing with our government. It is amazing how talking about things and letting out the frustrations with the process is therapeutic in itself. Being able to express my concerns and experiences enabled me to see firsthand the community's support for our efforts and allowed me to feel as if I had effectively reached people that had no idea what it was like to have your life turned upside down by the DEA.
We are strong in our efforts to create awareness for the medical cannabis community by letting our story touch as many lives as possible in an effort to educate and inspire people to take actions against the injustices of the federal government's policies on medical cannabis. Many people came through and decorated a cupcake of freedom and it was touching to realize the support that people have for our situation. Thank you to all who took the time out to write a short testimonial on our behalf and those that decorated a cupcake in our honor. I never knew that frosting and sprinkles could effectively touch my heart and inspire me to carry on the fight for justice.
